Mackenzie Phillips Makes Bail
Mackenzie Phillips can start taking it one day at a time on the outside.
Having spent the night in the slammer following a drug bust, the former sitcom star was released from Van Nuys Jail Thursday at 2:30 p.m. after posting $10,000 bail, E! News has confirmed.
The 48-year-old actress-singer was brought to the facility Wednesday and booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after admitting to officers she had a "drug problem"—and was found to be holding small amounts of both cocaine and heroin while trying to get through security at Los Angeles International Airport.
Along with the requisite handful of bail bondsmen, Phillips received a visit in jail from half-sister Bijou Phillips and Bijou's boyfriend, Danny Masterson, yesterday afternoon.

DMX Profanely Pleads Out in Miami Drug Bust
DMX is slowly cleaning up after himself. Albeit a bit messily.
The beleaguered rapper was sentenced to time served Thursday in Miami after pleading not guilty to attempted marijuana and cocaine possession, a deal that will allow him to avoid jail time—in the Sunshine State, at least.
He was also ordered to pay a $483 court fine and return for a follow-up hearing Oct. 3. To which DMX could be heard replying, "I ain't coming back on f--king Oct. 3," per MTV News.
But they're apparently going to let him leave anyway.
"You need to tell your client that I've heard the F-word before," Judge Lawrence Schwartz told defense attorney Bradford Cohen. "He can send it to me anytime he wants to come in, if that's what makes him happy, but he certainly didn't help his stature any with what he mumbled as he left the podium."
Now It's Michael Lohan's Turn to Respond
After Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson blogged out their Michael Lohan frustrations on MySpace, we knew it was only a matter of hours until M.Lo came up with some kind of response. He tells ABCNews.com:
"Who's out of control? Whose life is out of control? Give me a break. Going from place to place, being dragged around by Samantha so she can make more money off of Lindsay being there when she spins...She's gone from making $7 million to less than a million a movie. Who's out of control?
Baz's Australia Bumped Back
This trip to Oz is going to take a little longer than expected.
With Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince disapparating from its original Nov. 21 release date, Fox has shifted Australia into position to take advantage of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Baz Luhrmann's eagerly anticipated, Oscar-baiting epic stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman in a Western-styled romance set against the backdrop of World War II.
Australia was originally scheduled to unspool Nov. 14 and face off with MGM's latest James Bond adventure, Quantum of Solace, itself pushed back from Nov. 7 after Warner Bros. relocated Potter to July 2009.
Luhrmann's first film since 2001's hit musical Moulin Rouge!—and his most expensive to date, with a budget estimated at $130 million—will now open simultaneously in the U.S., Australia and Canada on Nov. 26, the Wednesday before Turkey Day.
Instead of 007, Australia will face lesser compeition for box-office supremacy: Lionsgate's Transporter 3 and Warners' Four Christmases, starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon, also open that weekend.

T.I. "Likes" Making Hot 100 History
House arrest has paid off big time for T.I.
The rapper, who recorded his forthcoming Paper Trail while confined to his Atlanta-area home, made chart history as his album single "Whatever You Like" rocketed 70 spots to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100. This sets a new record for the biggest jump to the top slot, besting Maroon 5's record-setting 63-spot jump for "Makes Me Wonder" back in May 2007.
T.I.'s track rocketed to No. 1 thanks to downloads, selling 205,000 copies in its first week in online stores. That gives "Whatever You Like" the biggest digital sales debut by a rap artist since Nielsen SoundScan started tracking downloads five years ago.
Brad Pitt Could Save the World
While perusing the Internet, we came across this bit of information: "Brad Pitt helped save a kid from nearly drowning yesterday in Venice."
Obviously, we got excited—hero stories are the best! (Unless it's about Tom Cruise, who seems to save people from various auto accidents every few years.)
Of course, we watched the accompanying video—only there was no drowning. There was some tripping on the edge of a dock, which could lead to drowning, we guess. And Brad did help the boy shake it off. But still...those tricksters at TMZ always get us.
It did make us think, though, about how Brad could blink and people would take it as a sign of world peace. He's a powerful man, that one.
Well, Selena Gomez,There Are 63,360 Inches in a Mile
Disney star, Miley Cyrus frenemy and rumored Nick Jonas dater Selena Gomez just released her music video for “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” from Another Cinderella Story.
Us Weekly probably summed it up best with the headline “Watch Selena Gomez Dance With a Mop.” Yep, that’s about all there is here. Well, that and a preview of Disney’s next big thing.
Whereas her BFF Demi Lavato looks like she’s trying hard to be a rock star in “Get Back” and there’s no question that Miley brings it (like Madonna!) in “7 Things,” Selena’s all “Hey! I’m cute and fun. Who wants to have a sleepover?! I’ll bring the tube of cookie dough!”
Needless to say, this video is way better than that rehash of “Our Lips Are Sealed” which Hilary Duff released with the first version of A Cinderella Story. But give these girls another six years and they could be in Hilary’s spot—watching a new crop of cute young'uns rise in fame while taking dad to court to foot a $25,000 21st-birthday-party bill. (Aw, poor Hil, we do miss you!)
What do you think? Better than Miles or just whatever?
NBC Ups Chuck, ABC Enlists de Rossi, Tamblyn, Milano
Here's one piece of inside information Chuck doesn't need to keep secret: NBC has picked up an additional nine episodes of the computer-geek spy show, guaranteeing a full second season before the new run even kicks off.
"It's an incredible show of faith by NBC and so amazingly nice to get based on the work along," creator Josh Schwartz said.
The network made the decision to order nine more episodes, a full month before the second series even debuts, based on the strength of the six episodes already in the can for its premiere Sept. 29.
